Allan LEONARD

PhD Researcher @UlsterUni | Managing Editor @SharedFuture | Board Member @FactCheckNI | Photographer 📸 | Runner 🏃‍♂️ | Genealogist 🌳 Allan Leonard is a PhD researcher at the School of Applied Social Work and Policy Sciences at Ulster University. His research proposal examines lesson drawing and policy transfer in policing between Kosovo and Northern Ireland. Allan is co-founder and managing editor of Shared Future News, which reports on peacebuilding in Northern Ireland. He is also co-founder and a board member of FactCheckNI, Northern Ireland's dedicated fact-checking service. He has served in senior management positions in several charities established to promote peace and reconciliation, where he gained international experience supporting programmes in other divided societies. His professional background includes project and staff management, fundraising, marketing and communication. Allan earned a Bachelor’s degree in international relations, from Boston University, and a Master’s degree in Irish politics, from University College Dublin. His personal interests are photography, running, and genealogy.
